Nigerian forces clash with anti-US protesters over blasphemous anti-Islam movie near Jos mosque

Nigerian troops have fired shots to disperse angry demonstrators protesting near a mosque in country's central city of Jos over a blasphemous anti-Islam movie produced by an Israeli-American in the United States.

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Nigerian troops have fired shots to disperse angry demonstrators protesting near a mosque in country's central city of Jos over a blasphemous anti-Islam movie produced by an Israeli-American in the United States.

“The soldiers had to fire some warning shots in the air, but there were no casualties," AFP quoted military spokesman in Plateau state, Captain Salihu Mustapha, as saying on Friday.

"The placards they were carrying were denouncing America” he added.

They also called on US President Barack Obama to take action against the filmmakers.

The Muslim world is outraged at the US for allowing the production of the blasphemous video, which insults the Prophet Mohammad and depicts Islam as an oppressive religion.

On Tuesday, US Ambassador to Libya Christopher Stevens along with three other consulate staff members were killed in Benghazi after clashes involving a group of angry demonstrators near the consulate building.

At least four Yemeni protesters were killed on Thursday after US Embassy guards in Sana'a opened fire on protesters trying to break into the building.

Sam Bacile, a real estate developer, has assumed responsibility for the film released on the 11th anniversary of the September 11 attacks, which he said was made thanks to Zionists donations totaling $5 million.
