(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - “The civilization and culture of Iran and Islam” assesses Iran and Islam’s civilization and culture. Divided into two parts, the first section is about the lifestyles, civilization and the achievements of Iran- before the Sassanid’s defeat- and the other part is about Iran after the advent of Islam.
The book holds 10 chapters in which the author has tried to provoke the reader’s interests to read more about Iran and Islam’s culture and civilization and prepare them for further research.
“The civilization and culture of Iran and Islam” is written in two sections and 10 chapters. The first part holds three initial chapters which are about the culture and lifestyle according to the cultural origins as well as its features.
The following chapters, concentrating on civilization as the best achievement of humans, consider the relationship between culture and civilization as well as political and economical factors and the factors influencing the formation of civilizations. The 3rd chapter sheds light on 10,000 years of Iran’s culture and civilization and evaluates stone tools, metal tools, the migration of Aryans to Iran and their cultural beliefs.
The other chapter is about the Sassanid ear alongside the positions of women, family, religion, arts and language and the causes of the dynasty’s fall. The fifth chapter is about the golden era of Islam and the impact of the Islamic civilization in the formation of European civilizations and the influence of Iranians on the golden era. It also holds brief explanations about medical and industrial progress and the Muslim’s developments.
The 6th chapter is about Quran as the origin of Islamic civilization and culture while the other chapter is about the stance of Islam and Iranian identity. Evaluating the nature of identity and its factors, the writer has presented the concept of Iran in the Islamic period and talks about the factors which drew Iranians towards Islam.
The 8th chapter s about the political thoughts of Islam and Iran and the 9th chapter criticizes and evaluates the social thoughts.
Finally the last chapter is about the features and the work of Seyyed Jamal Uddin Asadabadi as the starter of the Islamic Awakening movement.
The first print of “The civilization and culture of Iran and Islam” a book by Hedayatollah Sotoodeh has been released in 207 pages in 2000 copies by Neday-e Aryana publications.
