Saudi-backed security forces in Bahrain have arrested four protesters following days of anti-regime demonstrations across the Persian Gulf country.

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Saudi-backed security forces in Bahrain have arrested four protesters following days of anti-regime demonstrations across the Persian Gulf country.The four demonstrators were arrested on Sunday in the northern village of Tubli, about 10 kilometers (6 miles) southwest of the capital Manama, Alwasat News reported on Monday.Meanwhile, Bahraini forces also attacked the protesters, holding an anti-regime demonstration in the northeastern island of Sitra.The anti-regime protesters chanted slogans against the ruling regime and condemned the persecution of protesters.Bahrainis continue peaceful demonstrations against the ruling monarchy, despite the regime’s violent crackdown on the protests.The police frequently use teargas canisters, rubber bullets, and sound grenades to disperse the protesters.Scores of people have been killed and many others injured or arrested in the campaign of suppression.The demonstrators hold King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa responsible for the deaths of the protesters during the uprising that began in February 2011.Bahrain hosts the US Navy Fifth Fleet and is among the Persian Gulf countries such as Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates that receive military equipment from the United States. /129
