72 areas were the victims of brutal suppression by Bahraini regime forces

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Bahraini Regime forces brutally repressed pro-democracy citizens in 72 areas, in what was one of the toughest days yet in the democratic uprising. Scores of protesters were injured in the attacks that were spread across different areas and roads and in the besieging and raiding of homes to prevent protesters taking to the streets.

However the people of Bahrain faced the arbitrary banning of their protest in a civilised and peaceful manner, calling for democracy in rallies throughout the country. But they were met with fierce repression of the mostly non-Bahraini regime forces, which spread themselves in large groups to try to out number the protesters.

As usual, collective punishment was the strategy of the regime, excluding nobody. Every movement was a target to the regime's forces, with many injuries and arrests being reported, along with raiding of homes. The forces even damaged people’s private property in a clear disregard for the law.

The opposition parties’ ( Wa'ad, Al-Qawmi, Al-Ekha'a, Al-Wahdawi and Al-Wefaq ) had formally informed officials of twenty-five scheduled rallies, but the regime brutally attacked them.
