(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Ali Hassan, who was arrested for taking part in anti-regime protests, must be monitored for a year after being tried on charges of disturbing security.
“Ali is a new hero of the revolution in Bahrain and when 11-year-olds rise up against a regime, that indicates that it is teetering and tottering on the brink of collapse,” Colin Cavell, a former lecturer at the University of Bahrain said.
He also noted that the United States remained silent about Bahrain because its Fifth Naval Fleet is located in the kingdom.
Cavell added that Washington “will eventually require regime structural change in Bahrain should the [Barack] Obama regime win the reelection in November.”
“But it is interesting that the regime in Bahrain believes that it is stable, believes that it has resolved all of its problems as they are announcing their papers everyday by going after Ali Hassan,” he said.
The kingdom has been the scene of anti-regime demonstrations since February 2011. Scores of people have been killed and many others have been arrested during the revolution.
