(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - The Leader of the African Shia Islamic Movement Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky was honored with the gift of red flag from the golden dome of the shrine of Imam Hussain(AS).
The flag was handed over to him in Lebanon where he attended the conference of the Union of NGOs Defending Palestinians Rights which took place in Lebanon last week.
Every year the flag on the holy Shrine of imam Hussain(AS) is posted outside the shrine of Imam Hussain (A.S.) and is changed with a new one. The red flag is then given away to selected individuals and it is a great honour and miracle to have this flag. This Year the flag was given to Sheikh Zakzaky. Sheikh Hasan Hamoudi handed over the flag to the Leader of the Islamic Movement on behalf of Sayyid Hasan Nasrallah.
Upon his return to Nigeria, Sheikh Zakzaky said that the flag will be used to cover the dome of the Husainiyyah Baqiyyatullah, Zaria.
The Leader of the Islamic Movement also visited some important places and centers during his one week stay in Lebanon. He visited the tomb of Prophet Shith bin Prophet Adam(AS) which is located in Nabashit, Mu’assati Shaheed (Martyrs’ Foundation) and Mu’assati Jarha( Foundation for the disabled) all in Lebanon.
The Leader was back in Nigeria on Saturday the 30th June 2012. The Union of NGOs defending Palestinians right was established in the year 2000 with it’s headquarter in the Islamic Republic of Iran. Conference is organised annually in different countries.
