(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - "The detection came within the framework of the ongoing anti-spyware detection," Hezbollah said in a statement issued Monday.
“Subsequently, the enemy detonated the device remotely, where no one was hurt due to the high level of alert and caution of the resistance technicians,” Hezbollah added in the statement.
“The technical espionage attempt practiced by the enemy, and foiled by the resistance, comes in the context of persistent Israeli attacks on the telecommunications system, which constitutes a violation of the Lebanese sovereignty and an attempt to seize the security and safety of the Lebanese people,” the statement read.
The Islamic resistance however, stressed it “will continue to face the enemy plans and attacks on the security and integrity of Lebanon and its resistance.”
Al-Manar correspondent in the scene, Ali Sheib, reported that the spying device constitutes of a storage device of more than twenty boxes that contain batteries to feed it. The storage device is linked to the transmission equipment via a 80-meter cable directed towards the bordering Zionist military posts.
The device was installed over a high hill facing some bordering Zionist posts.
The explosion area was appointed between the Lebanese villages of Hallousiyeh, Zrariyeh and Bidyas in the South.
Sheib noted that a UNIFIL checkpoint distances not more than 1 kilometer from the detonation area.
The Lebanese army immediately dispatched to the area and started investigation.
