Nigeria: Sanusi advises Muslims to encourage Qur’anic teachings

Central Bank Governor Sanusi Lamido Sanusi has advised Muslim parents to encourage their children to acquire Quranic knowledge and imbibe its teachings for rewards on earth and hereafter.

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Central Bank Governor Sanusi Lamido Sanusi has advised Muslim parents to encourage their children to acquire Quranic knowledge and imbibe its teachings for rewards on earth and hereafter.He gave the advice yesterday in Abuja at the maiden graduation ceremony and completion of the recitation of the Holy Qur’an (Sauka) of 15 grandaunts (12 girls and three boys) of the Zaytuna Madrasah.“Training ones children in learning the Qur’an and working with it is also a form of connection with the Qur’an,” Sanusi said.He said that Prophet Muhammad has stated that the Qur’an would be a proof for or against individuals and appealed to those who constantly recite the Qur’an to seek for spiritual rejuvenationThe Emir of Suleja, Dr. Auwwal Ibrahim, represented by Architect Adamu Abuja, urged Muslims adults to always seek for Quranic knowledge, saying learning is continuing exercise for the living.The Emir of Kazaure, Alhaji Najib Adamu, also represented by Alhaji Barau Danbata, expressed happiness over the increment in the number of girls learning the Qur’an.He called on the grandaunts to inculcate what they have been taught in their day to day activities.Director of the school, Hajiya Maryam Abdulmutallab, said that applying modern teaching methodologies in teaching the Qur’an was one of secrets of their success story.  Former Head of States Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar was also at the ceremony./129
