(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Hundreds of Bahraini protesters have taken to the streets in the northwestern village of Diraz to hold a demonstration against the Al Khalifa regime.Peaceful demonstrators in Diraz chanted anti-government slogans and called for the downfall of the Manama regime on Wednesday.The protesters also demanded the release of political prisoners.The demonstration in Diraz was held a couple of days after regime forces raided houses in the northeastern island of Sitra, searching for anti-government protesters, and made several arrests.A number of people were also injured when the regime forces attacked homes in Sitra.The Saudi-backed Bahraini regime forces continue the violent crackdown on peaceful demonstrations across the country. Police frequently use tear gas, rubber bullets and sound grenades to disperse the protesters.An 80-year-old Bahraini female was the latest victim who died due to the inhalation of toxic tear gas fired by the security forces in early June.Bahraini demonstrators hold King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa responsible for the killing of protesters during the uprising that began in February 2011. /129
