Public Prosecution calls Al Wefaq Resigned MP Sayed Hadi Al Musawi for investigation after complaint

Sayed Hadi Al Musawi was informed he should attend an investigation on Thursday at the Public Prosecution after the Ministry of Interior filed a complaint against him.

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Sayed Hadi Al Musawi was informed he should attend an investigation on Thursday at the Public Prosecution after the Ministry of Interior filed a complaint against him. This summons is part of a campaign by the authorities of targeting activists and opposition with arrest, trials, dismissing from work, murder and attacking homes. The detention of a number of activists and human rights defenders is within the security campaign led by authorities to persecute each national voice defending the rights of Bahraini citizens. Such is the case of the ongoing detention of Nabeel Rajab, human rights defender and President of the Bahrain Centre for Human Rights, for simply expressing his view. Al Musawi was a member of the civil society delegation to Geneva who participated in the UN Human Rights Council UPR session on 21st May that reviewed Bahrain’s human rights record. Al Musawi is known for defending the rights of citizens and investigation violations of rights. He has played a prominent role in following up and monitoring abuses by the authorities against citizens in the past period. He also played a major role and contributed in documenting violations to the Bahrain Independent Commission of Inquiry, headed by Mr. Bassiouni./129
