(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Head of Egypt’s Shia coalition said a Shia leaders council is planned to be set up in the country.Muhammad Ghanim invited Egypt’s Shia leaders to attend an upcoming conference to discuss creation of the council, Moheet website reported.He said Shi’ites affiliated to all groups, political parties, and cultural organizations as well as ordinary citizens are welcome to attend the conference, which is to be held with the motto of ‘revival’.Ghanim added that the Shia coalition is a reformist movement that relies on the youths who are the ones that build the future of the country.“The coalition aims to improve the status of Shi’ites in the country and intends to attract more young Shi’ites to develop its activities,” he said.Although there are no official statistics about Shia population in Egypt, they are estimated to constitute around one percent of the total population. /129
