(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - On Monday, Bahrain riot police raided several houses in the besieged island of Sitra, taking away dozens of protesters, who have been taking part in anti-discrimination rallies. Sitra has long been the center of protests against the Al Khalifa regime and the opposition calls it the “Capital of Revolution.” Since February 2011, when anti-discrimination protests began in the Persian Gulf kingdom many deaths have occurred in Sitra which is predominantly Shia town. Anti-discrimination demonstrators hold King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa responsible for the death of protesters during the popular uprising. Bahraini activists say six people have been martyred during nationwide anti-discrimination demonstrations since March 17, 2012.
