(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Several people have been injured in Bahrain as the Saudi-backed regime forces attacked protesters in a demonstration against the Al Khalifa regime in the village of Dair.
On Saturday, several Bahrainis were injured after regime forces fired tear gas to disperse anti-government protesters in Dair.
Bahrainis have been staging demonstrations since mid-February 2011, demanding political reform and a constitutional monarchy, a demand that later changed to an outright call for the ouster of the ruling Al Khalifa regime following its brutal crackdown on popular protests.
Scores of people have also been killed and many others have been injured in the Saudi-backed crackdown on peaceful protesters in Bahrain.
The regime has been using poisonous tear gas against protesters which has resulted in countless deaths due to asphyxia.
On November 23, 2011, the Bahrain Independent Commission of Inquiry (BICI) issued a report saying the Manama regime had used “excessive force, including the extraction of forced confessions against detainees,” in response to demonstrations in the country.
Bahraini demonstrators hold King Hamad Al Khalifa responsible for the killings.
