Qur'an Burning, Arrogant Powers' Deadlock against Islam

Shia cleric demanded Muslim communities to confront sacrilege of Qur'an and criticized the neutral stance of some Islamic countries regarding the crime.

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Hujjat-ol-Islam Mohammad Hassan Akhtari, Secretary General of Ahlul Bayt (AS) World Assembly in a ceremony held to tribute martyrs of the demonstrations against Qur'an burning in Afghanistan criticized Muslim countries who failed to take a stance against desecration of Qur'an.

He demanded Muslim nations to express their gratitude towards the resistance of Afghan people against the heinous act.

Hujjat-ol-Islam Akhtari referred to the background of anti Islamic moves and said, "Islamophobic moves and mental and physical hostile measures against Qur'an have a history as long as the mission of Prophets (PBUT).

Secretary General of Ahlul Bayt (AS) World Assembly referred to "The Satanic Verses" as another example of anti Islamic moves and said late Imam Khomeini (RA) knew that there was a serious aim to desecrate Islamic sanctities behind writing a book against Islam.

He said the event led to a new wave of desecrating caricatures, films based on absurd information on Islam and other incidents like Afghanistan incident.

Iranian cleric referred to the increase in Islamophobia in some arenas and said the reason behind that is spread of monotheistic thoughts in the world and enlightening inspirations of holy Qur'an to the point that pushed the arrogant powers and their allies to scramble so much.

He said revival of monotheism and a general popularity of Islam as the other reason behind the wrath of the enemies and said, "All these efforts are due to transcendence of Islam particularly after the Islamic Republic of Iran and sending its message to Islamic and non Islamic countries."

According to Hujjat-ol-Islam Akhtari what humiliated the West and foiled the plot of the US in Iraq ending in shameful acts like burning of Qur'an and mosques.

Akhtari expressed regret that some Muslim rulers are merely puppets of the arrogant powers and have failed to issue a fatwa regarding the crime demanding Muslims to voice their anger against the crimes of the West.
