Clinical death to protester after direct shot of tear gas

A protestor (Fadhel Al Obaidi, 21, Duraz) is announced to be in a state of clinical death, after being shot with a tear gas canister in the head, security forces also kept beating and kicking him on his injury despite being unconscious. Doctors declair that Fadhel is in a very critical condition and has slim chances of survival.

2. Shaikh Issa Qassim, biggest religious leader in Bahrain, calls for the biggest expected mass rally on Friday 9 March, and declares his participation.

Issa Qassim: "the mass rally on 9 March must be the biggest popular demonstration to prove the lies of the regime, that we are not a minority"


3. Today was the first day of a weeklong sit in protest in the Freedom Square, Al Miqsha'a. it consisted of various speeches.

The highlights of the event:

· An open press conference, where journalists spoke of human rights violations and torture sessions they have experienced by the Bahraini government.

· A speech by ex MP of Al Wefaq, Abduljalil Khalil, he spoke of the history of Bahrain in terms of popular movements and uprisings demanding justice and freedom since the 1920's and hoping that last uprising in Bahrain would be the last after gaining victory and all the demands are met. He also called for the people to stay united in order to achieve the targets of the revolution.

· A speech on behalf of the families of the detainees, given by Khadija Al Mosawi, Abdulhadi Al Khawaja's wife.








4. Many protests in various villages( Duraz, Bani Jamra, Sehla, were brutally attacked by security forces, injuries were reported due to direct shooting of tear gas into the protestors.




5. According to lawyer S. Mohsin Al Alawi, the Higher Criminal Court of Appeal banns the right of a defendant and the lawyer in the provision of defense and prohibited them from providing any defense and decides imprisonment for a period of 6 months to Seddiqa Al Basri, 25 years, who is now exposed to arrest at any time.


6. According to final statistics:

The total number of workers still dismissed from work in the public and private sector is: 1776 worker.

The total number of detainees arrested during and after the 14th of February and are still detained is: 52 detainees.


7. Amnesty International cancels its visit to Bahrain, after the Bahraini authorities imposed a five days limit for visits by international human rights organizations.
