(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Farajullah Shazli, Egyptian Quran master, international reciter and referee and academic board member of Al-Azhar University, said that the desecration of the Holy Quran by some extremist groups is an indecent act which is not approved by God, the prophet (PBUH) and true believers.
"The agents of such obscene actions will sure be penalized by God for the sacrilege of Muslims’ religious sanctities, as God has infinite power over the entire world and no one can stand against Him.”
He further urged the Islamic and Arab world not to do similar actions, such as burning other Divine books, in response to this inhumane act, as such deeds are only committed by uncivilized disbelievers.
Referring to Verse 9 of Surah Hijr as saying "It is we who sent down the Quran and we watch over it”, he added: "Since the Holy Quran is the word of the Almighty, it is immune to distortion and any attempt to desecrate it is doomed to failure.”
"No person with strong beliefs will keep silent and approve Quran burning.” He went on to say, calling on all Islamic and Arab rulers and officials to strongley condemn the action to stop similar undertakings in the future.
"This is not the first time that the Holy Book is being defiled by biased extremists and groups; yet, they can never succeed in doing any harms to Islam and the Quran and the consequence will be nothing but Muslims or non-Muslims’ increasing hatred toward the agents of such profane deeds.”
Farajullah Shazli also referred to Barak Obama’s apology to Muslims following the Quran burning in Afghanistan, adding: "If he does not take the heinous act seriously and refuses to punish those who committed such a wrongdoing, he must know that his presidency will finally come to an end and he will be questioned of what he has done in the Hereafter if not in this world.”
