Holy Quran in Chinese, to be unveiled

A Chinese translation of the holy Quran will be unveiled in a ceremony slated for tomorrow at Oghaf and Charity Affairs organization.

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - According to the information center of Tarjoman Vahy Cultural Institute, the ceremony will be held tomorrow (February 5, 2012) at the locality of Oghaf and Charity Affairs Organization in Tehran.

Tarjoman Vahy has managed to render the holy Quran into six languages, namely English, French, Azeri Turkish, Istanbul Turkish, Spanish and Chinese, said Hujatoleslam Mohammad Naghdi, head of Tarjoman Vahy.

As he said, the Urdu translation of the holy Quran was supposed to be unveiled during the Fajr Decade, which was postponed to a later time due to the prolonged proofreading of the work. The translation contains the Sunni and Shia translations of the Quran in one single volume and was supposed to be unveiled during the Unity Week, which was canceled. The volume will be unveiled later in a ceremony. Ayatollah Mohsen Najafi from Shias and the late Abdolala Mojoudi from Sunnis have provided the translations.

He went on to say that the translator of Quran into Chinese will attend the unveiling ceremony. Soleiman Ba-ji-su spent 10 years to complete his work on the Chinese version of the holy Quran.
