An educational course on “the holy Quran recitations science” began on January 27 in Nouakchott, the capital city of Mauritania.According to ami website, the three-month course has been held by the Islamic Association of Mosques Custodians in the country which has been attended by 60 girls and boys.Speaking at the opening ceremony of the course, Mohammad Walad Mohammad Azmin, head of the association stressed the importance of Tajweed and recitation of the Quran and said the participants’ skills will be evaluated at the end of the course.He stated that the association plans to hold educational courses on Hadith, Islamic jurisprudence and principles aiming to disseminate Islamic teachings in the country.The program was also addressed by other Quran teachers and experts of the association who stressed the importance of teaching the holy Quran and Quranic sciences. /129
