Japanese Shi'a Translater of Holy Quran Passes away

Translator of the Quran into Japanese Muhammad Qem Safa Fumiu Savada has passed away.

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Translator of the Quran into Japanese Muhammad Qem Safa Fumiu Savada has passed away.

Savada, who was a Japanese Shia, had also translated Islamic and Shia works into his mother tongue.

In a message, issued yesterday, January 10, secretary general of the Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) World Assembly Hojat-ol-Islam Abbas Ali Akhtari expressed his condolences over the scholar’s demise.

In the message, Hojat-ol-Islam Akhtari described Savada as a scholar with great moral character and one who spend many years to spread the teachings of Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) in Japan.

He said the precious works written by late Savada, especially his translation of the Quran into Japanese, as well as the many students he trained will make his name memorable in the history of Islamic and Shia scholars.

He expressed condolences over the demise of the Japanese scholar to all Japanese Muslims as well as the bereaved family.

Savada’s son Hojat-ol-Islam Ebrahim Tatsu Ichi Savada is the director of Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) World Assembly’s office in Tokyo and spreads the teachings of Quran and Etrat in Japan.
