Prominent Egyptian Holy Quran Reciter Passes away

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Sheikh Muhammad Uwaiza, eminent Egyptian reciter of the holy Quran passed away on Wednesday, January 4, Al-Ahram daily reported.He died in his hometown in the province of Qana in southern Egypt at the age of 100.Sheikh Muhammad Uwaiza had mastered the seven styles of Quran recitation and trained a great many Quran reciters.His recitation classes were also a meeting place for Quran activists from different parts of Egypt and university students who came to him to learn the science of Tajweed.He taught Quran recitation and Tajweed in his Dar-ul-Quran in Ash-Shu’un region of Qana province for over 50 years. /129
