Mishaal calls on Arabs to provide a safety net for reconciliation

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Head of the Hamas Political Bureau, Khaled Mishaal, called on Arab leaders to provide a safety net to protect the Palestinian reconciliation and rebel external interference, stressing that Hamas is serious about reconciliation.This came during a brief press conference jointly held with Dr. Nabil al-Arabi in Cairo after a meeting on Friday morning to discuss the Palestinian  issue, including the reconciliation.The Arab League secretary general said that during his meeting with Mishaal, they discussed the different issues on the Arab arena, especially the Palestinian arena and the fact that there was no way to advance the peace process proves that peace cannot be achieved without an end to  occupation.In reply to a question about the obstacles causing the delay in implementing the reconciliation he replied: “the factor that should be obvious to us is foreign interference in the form of threatening to cut off aid if Abu Mazen goes ahead with the reconciliation with Hamas. While I am in the house of Arabs, I call on Arab leaders and the Arab League to provide a safety net for reconciliation against foreign interference."/129
