(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - A mixture of science and religion, the latest book by Sobhane Noor Publication sheds light on Islamic medication with a special focus on Shia physic.
"Shia Medicine, Precious Heritage of Islam" is the latest book written by Dr Mohammad Daryayee with a focus on the history of medicine in Islam ranging from teachings of the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) to methods applied by Muslim scientists.
The path of Islamic medicine, according to the book, originates from the guidelines of the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and his household and Muslim scientists, with their traditional and conventional methods of medication, are heir to this valuable heritage.
"Shia Medicine, Precious Heritage of Islam" counts some remarkable Muslim physicians among them Abu Ali Abd Allah ibn Sina known as Avicenna (980-1037)Iranian polymath, Muhammad ibn Zakariya Razi (865-925)another Persian polymath and Seyyed Esmail Gorgani, Persian physician (1041-1136) who have left around 1,000 books about Shia medicine.
According to the author, "Shia Medicine, Precious Heritage of Islam" is a proof that Muslim scientists particularly Shia showed more attention to health, sanitary and nutrition."
He added that the book is a unique one in collecting the history of Shia medicine though it does not provide any medical guideline.
Another feature of the book is that beside the simple language of the book, some technical terms are also hired so that the modern experts of medicine can build a better relation with the nature of Islamic and Iranian medicine.
This book is credited by great medicine figures as well as the scientists who have worked on the historical and religious backgrounds of medicine.
