1st Ashura Mourning Ceremony in Egypt with the presence of Shia and Sunni Muslims

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Ashura mourning ceremony which was held on December 6 for the first time in Egypt was interrupted by Salafis.  According to Altawafoq website, the ceremony was attended by Shia and Sunni Muslims of the region.  Ras Al-Hussein (AS) in Cairo was covered with black veils and black flags were set up at the place where Egyptian Shia leaders such as Mohammad Al-Duraini, general secretary of Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) Foundation welcomed the participants.  Addressing the program, Ahmad Sobh, a Sunni scholar said that Muslims today should seek their unity in Imam Hussein’s uprising believing that following the Imam’s objectives would lead them reach the unity.  He added that the current revolutions are all made against Yazids of the present time and called upon Al-Azhar, Najaf Seminary School and Saudi Arabia to take steps in line with Muslims’ unity./129
