Bahraini policemen beat driver

Bahraini activists have released fresh footage of the ongoing Saudi-backed crackdown on anti-regime protesters that has so far left dozens of people dead.

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Activists say a civilian driver was beaten up by over a dozen police officers who were also trying to damage his vehicle.

Bahraini security forces stopped the driver, accusing him of being an anti-regime protester.

The video comes just days after an independent inquiry into Manama's crackdown revealed that the regime had tortured pro-democracy demonstrators, activists and political leaders.

On November 23, the Bahrain Independent Commission of Inquiry said the regime had used “excessive force” to crush the protests.

The commission urged the Bahraini government to revise verdicts handed down to protesters in military courts, and to set up a compensation fund for victims.

Since mid-February, security forces have killed dozens of anti-regime protesters who were calling for the Al Khalifa royal family to relinquish power.
