(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Bahraini security forces chased youths in Shi'ite town on Wednesday and one man was martyred when his car was hit by a police vehicle, activists said, hours before a report on the sectarian strife that has roiled the kingdom was to be released.
Witnesses said riot police in 4x4 vehicles sped through the streets of Aali, outside the capital Manama, in pursuit of dozens of teenagers, before seizing one and beating him with batons as helicopters circled overhead.
Bahraini Shia, Abdalnabi Kazem al-Aqil was driving his car when harassed by mercenaries and they hit him on purpose and pushed his car to the wall of a building. Due to this incident the man martyred painfully in the morning.
Abdalnabi Kazem al-Aqil, 44, was from the village of ‘Aali.
Thousands of anti-government protesters have been staging demonstrations in Bahrain since mid-February, demanding political reforms and a constitutional monarchy -- a demand that later changed to an outright call for the ouster of the ruling Al Khalifa family following its brutal crackdown on popular protests.
Scores of people have also been killed and many others have been injured in the Saudi-backed crackdown on peaceful protesters in Bahrain.
