(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Sheikh Ali Salman, Secretary General of the Islamic National Bahraini Association Al-Wefak stresses in a talk to "Yawm Sabee’ " that the Bahraini system is instigating the separation between Sunnis and Shiites, to thwart the revolutionary movement in the country. We as Shiites are constantly calling for coexistence between the two respectful communities, in spite of the existing discrimination. Salman explained that the Bahraini revolution differs from the rest of the Arab spring revolutions. We did not intend to overthrow the regime at first. We asked for the development of constitutional monarchy, democracy, the establishment of a full legislative Council authority and an independent reliable judiciary, and security services to serve all citizens.Salman confirmed that the demands of the Bahraini revolution were agreed to by both Sunnis and Shiites and were far from being " sectarian demands", denouncing those claims and saying "If the Bahraini opposition were to ask for the creation of a religious state as Faqih State, then the accusation would be understandable, but our demands are not religious nor sectarian, they are humane demands of human existing in any country that lacks democracy."The Secretary General of the National Association added that Iran never supported the Shiites of Bahrain, and that their contribution was through their official broadcast that covered the events in Bahrain, just as they covered the events in Egypt and Tunisia. The U.S. and European intelligence’s opinion on this subject after having crossed more than once the claims of the government that there is an Iranian influence and interference affecting the events in Bahrain was that Bahrain revolutionary events or uprising is a national movement, and that those are just the assumptions of Iran’s enemies.Salman explained that the opposition has been advising the system for over ten years about the need for political and economic reforms, and has provided the authorities with written, oral, confidential and undisclosed recommendations. The system promised the people that by 200, there will be a legislative Council that holds all the authority, but they never saw a thing, the system promised the people that they would implement a constitutional monarchy and then ruled an absolute monarchy. The king had used to have 5 or 6 ministers in the assembly, and today under the pretext of realizing a constitutional monarchy, the number of ministers of the Al khalifa is 13 out of a 24 member parliament, and thus once again, it is absolute power. The Bahraini activist has already said that they do not want to create for a Faqih state in Bahrain, nor a strictly religious one, but a civil democratic state that accommodates for us and our children on the principles of citizenship, respect for all religions, sects, ideologies, practices human rights. This would not be a new discovery but simply the level of respect that humanity has reached today./129
