(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - The festival was organized by the al-Wefaq opposition group at Almqha villagein, Manama. Al-Wefaq was founded on 7 November 2001 and celebrated its 10th anniversary on Wednesday 17th November 2011.
The congregants shouted slogans at the festival of unity and emphasis on the peaceful revolution and raised the flags of Bahrain and logo reconciliation.
On the event the speakers addressed with the zeal of new and fresh enthusiasm and paid the tribute to the martyrs of anti-government & pro-democracy protesters, those who are behind the bars, under the torture and those who are struggling for democracy in Bahrain and fighting for rights. The speakres also remembered the martyrs from the 1920s until the 2011.
The festival was attended by national figures, activists, lawyers and eminent persons, and gave some words underlined in the National Association of harmony and demands its line since its inception people’s rights and to emphasize their legitimate demands.
Al Wefaq National Islamic Society is also known Islamic National Accord Association, is a Bahraini political society, and the largest party in the Bahrain. Al Wefaq’s religious orientation is Shia and it is led by a cleric, Sheikh Ali Salman but his struggle for all Bahrainis.
Since mid-February, thousands of anti-government protesters have been holding regular demonstrations in Bahrain, calling for the US-backed Al Khalifa royal family to relinquish power.
On March 14, troops from Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates invaded Bahrain to assist the ruling regime in its brutal crackdown on peaceful protesters in the Persian Gulf Island, home to a huge military base of US Navy’s fifth fleet.
According to local sources, scores of people have been martyred and hundreds have been arrested by the regime.
