212 Indonesian hajj pilgrims dead this year

The Religious Ministry has recorded that as of Saturday evening 212 Indonesian hajj pilgrims, most of them aged over 60, had passed away during this year’s pilgrimage. The data recorded statistic that 44 dead hajj pilgrims were from Surabaya, 38 from Surakarta, 29 from Bekasi, 23 from Jakarta and 17 from Makassar. Kompas.com reported. The data also unveiled that the deceased included 146 men and 67 women. Illnesses related to blood circulation were the main cause of death with 152 cases, respiratory ailments killed another 43 people and other cases were related poor nutrition. /129
