(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Bahraini forces backed by troops from Saudi Arabia have attacked anti-regime protesters who have once again taken to the streets in many parts of the Persian Gulf country.Regime forces used tear gas to disperse protesters in the western village of Malikiyah on Wednesday. Hundreds of people also demonstrated in several other villages, including Karranah, Sanabis and Dair. Earlier in the day, Hajj pilgrims from the Saudi city of Qatif staged a protest rally in the holy city of Mecca, urging Riyadh to withdraw troops from Bahrain. Expressing solidarity with anti-regime protesters in the neighboring country, Saudi protesters called on their government and other Arab countries not to interfere in Bahrain. The demonstration came one day after hundreds of Bahraini Hajj pilgrims protested in Mecca against the regime of King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. Since mid-February, thousands of anti-regime protesters have been staging regular demonstrations in the streets of Bahrain. On March 14, troops from Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates invaded the country to assist the Bahraini government in its crackdown on the peaceful protests. According to local sources, scores of people have been killed and hundreds arrested in the crackdown./129
