Libyans to mark first Eid Al-Adha following Gaddafi’s ouster

The Qatar-based Al-Jazeera Network said on Sunday that the Libyan people are due to mark their first Eid al-Adha following the ouster of Muammar Gaddafi’s autocratic regime.

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Meanwhile shortage of liquidity throughout Libyan banks has had a negative impact on the verge of Eid al-Adha.

While the Libyan nation has just liberated themselves from the yoke of the Libyan despotic regime, they are faced with financial and economic pressures. In fact, the people who usually start shopping on the verge of Eid al-Adha, are forced to stand in long queues in front of banks, especially banks in the Libyan Capital, Tripoli, waiting to receive cash from the tellers or ATMs, which has led to complaints of the Libyan nation.

The blockade of Libyan assets, overseas, is one of the reasons behind shortage of liquidity in this country, while according to banks’ officials a large group of Libyan people are waiting to withdraw their cash from banks to make ends meet.
