Al-Wifaq congratulated in its statement the Libyan people for the fall down of the “arrogant Libyan” who persistently killed his people, ruled with injustice antagonize the Libyan citizens, and provoked the enmity and division among them, adding that “the revolutionary citizens deserves to live in stability and peace after all the tragic times they have been through during the time of Gaddafi”.Al-Wifaq mentioned that Gaddafi’s major fall down, after more than 40 years of ruling, should be a lesson and a wake up call to all of the other governors who rule with dictatorial styles and are focused on marginalizing their citizens; these governors should know that the people aren’t going to surrender, and that the changes into more democratic systems instantly is a necessity because every moment of delay will only make the situation more and more complex and the fall down much worse and harsher on the system.On the other hand, Al-Wifaq said that the sentences of imprisonment against the woman detainees in the case so called “city center” are surprising and were ruled with no proper means of defense. Al-Wifaq emphasized that the actions taken against these woman are increasing the intensity of the crises, and allow for major deviations from the solution to the problem in hand.They pointed out that the way these woman were arrested was insulting and humiliating and deplores the human conscious; the woman under arrest were abused, and treated in a brutal and insulting manner that is demeaning to the human dignity .In addition to the claims about suffering, brutal treatment, and torture that were acknowledged by the minister of the interior and municipalities during his interview last Thursday about some exceeding of the limits during detention and arrest of these woman.Al-Wifaq considered “these sentences of imprisonment along with many others are for reasons related to expressing one’s self and own opinions in a healthy way, and because the opinions that these woman have aren’t in parallel to those of the government their fate is jail and brutal sentences of imprisonment./129
