(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Saudi-backed Bahraini forces have attacked anti-government protesters in the southeastern village of Nuwaidrat near the capital, Manama, witnesses say. One protester was reportedly injured in the attack on Monday. According to witnesses, regime troops attacked protesters for chanting slogans against the ruling Al Khalifa dynasty. Similar anti-government protests were also held in several towns and villages around the capital. Since mid-February, thousands of anti-government protesters have been staging regular demonstrations in Bahrain, calling on the US-backed Al Khalifa family to relinquish power. On March 14, troops from Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates invaded the country to assist Bahraini rulers in their brutal crackdown of peaceful anti-government protesters. According to local sources, scores of people have been killed and hundreds arrested in the regime crackdown./129
