(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - The Egyptian news agency Asharq Al-Awsat said prisoner swap talks underway between Cairo and Tel Aviv could lead to the release of a third of the Egyptian prisoners from the latter's jails in exchange for an Israeli spy called Ilan Grapel.
According to the news agency, an official source from Egypt affirmed that the two sides would agree on some final points before implementing the swap deal.
About 20 to 30 Egyptian prisoners including three children would be swapped for Grapel, the Israeli spy who has been detained in an Egyptian jail for four months on a charge of destabilizing the country's peace and security.
Grapel was captured spying for the Mossad and accused of attempting to ignite ethnic strife in Egypt, while more than 80 Egyptian prisoners are serving different prison terms in Israel on allegations of committing criminal offenses.
