(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - "The city of Bani Walid has been completely liberated. The road is now open east towards Sirte, south to Sabha and west to Tripoli."
Meanwhile, Libyan revolutionary forces continued to shell Sirte on Monday, as they stepped up efforts to end the month-long siege of Gaddafi's hometown.
Grad missiles struck Gaddafi loyalist positions in the District 2 neighborhood of Sirte, located 400 kilometers east of the capital Tripoli.
NTC forces have besieged the city for weeks and now control much of it after launching a major push more than a week ago.
Libya's interim leader said last Wednesday that he expected to declare complete victory in less than a week, which would pave the way for the formation of a transitional government and elections within eight months in the North African nation.
