Egypt-Israel pipeline destroys by Explosion for the Sixth Time

An explosion has destroyed a pipeline that transported natural gas from Egypt to Israel and Jordan, according to security sources.

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - An explosion has destroyed a pipeline that transported natural gas from Egypt to Israel and Jordan, according to security sources.

The blast happened in the early hours of Tuesday morning in the region near the town of al-Arish in the north of the Sinai peninsula but there were no reports of any casualties, AFP quoted the sources as saying.

Israel's supply of gas from Egypt has been regularly disrupted since former Egyptian dictator Hosni Mubarak was toppled in February.

The pipeline, which carries gas through the Sinai and on to Jordan and Israel, has been blown up at least four times in recent months.

Over the past few weeks, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office has repeatedly warned Israelis to avoid travelling to Egypt.

Egyptian army experts have also located and defused a number of other explosive devices targeting the pipeline.
