Angry protests rage on in Bahrain on Sunday night

Bahraini people have once again protested against the ruling Al Khalifa regime over the killing of a teenage boy by Saudi-backed forces of the sheikhdom.

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Citing eyewitness accounts, protesters were attacked after they took to the streets in the city of Sitra, east of Manama, on Sunday night.

On Wednesday, the 14-year-old Ali Jawad was mrtyred after a tear gas canister fired by Bahraini forces struck his head during an anti-regime demonstration after the Eid al-Fitr prayers.

The victim's family said they planned to file a lawsuit against the discriminate regime at an international court.

Fresh protests come after Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa announced in a televised speech on Sunday that he would pardon some detained protesters.

The king also called for the reinstatement of a number of employees fired from their jobs and students expelled from their colleges.

However, Bahrainis have rejected his speech, accusing him of ordering the brutal crackdown on peaceful demonstrators.
