Nigeria: Muslims urged to pray for unity, peace, progress

Muslins in Kebbi State have been called upon to show piety, compassion and love for one another, as well as pray for the unity and progress of the country during the month of Ramadan.

Kebbi, Nigeria (Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Muslins in Kebbi State have been called upon to show piety, compassion and love for one another, as well as pray for the unity and progress of the country during the month of Ramadan.Alhaji Ahmed Abubakar, Assistant Sole Administrator of Fakai Local Government Council, made the call in Birnin Kebbi while speaking to the people on the benefits of fasting in the month of Ramadan.He advised Muslims to dedicate their lives to doing good and shun antagonism, in line with the teachings of Ramadan.  Abubakar also urged Muslims to desist from anti-social activities and said that they should show love for one another as well as assist the needy.An Islamic scholar, Mallam Hassan Musa, also enjoined Muslims to shun vices during the period of Ramadan.  According to him, Muslims are expected to show love and kindness to their neighbours and people of other faiths during and after Ramadan, if they are to gain Al-Jannah./129
