Mubarak’s Trial Boosts Muslim Ummah’s Demand to Bring Dictators to Justice

The outcome of the trial of ousted Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak will boost the demand of the Muslim nations for bringing their despotic rulers to justice.

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - This is according to Mojtaba Rahmandust secretary general of the Society for the Defense of the Palestinian People. He said that dictators ruling other Islamic countries are certainly not happy with Mubarak’s trial.

“One of the main demands of the Egyptian people in the past six months has been putting Mubarak on trial. The United States, through its cronies, tried to force people out of Al-Tahrir Square. However, the people of Egypt did not give in and rejected a prime minister installed by Americans.”

He stressed that Egyptians will not give up their demands until the final verdict against Mubarak is returned. Rahmandust also said Mubarak’s trial signifies the genuineness of popular uprisings.

He urged Egypt’s political activists and people to stay vigilant and said, “Egyptians have stood up for their aspirations so far, but some political groups seek to divert people's attention from major issues and Islamic parties have a great responsibility to inform the people.”

According to secretary general of the Society for the Defense of the Palestinian People, political groups in Egypt are the most influential today and that the activities of these groups play a major role in shaping Egypt’s developments.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Mr. Rahmandust also noted that the Zionist regime is worried about the trial of Mubarak.
