Student Quran Contest Held in Ghana

The second round of Quran memorization contest for students in Kumasi, the center of Ashanti region in Ghana, was held on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan.

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - It was organized by the preachers of the International Center of Dissemination and director of Imam Khomeini (RA) Library in cooperation with Iran Cultural Center in Ghana.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the contests, Hojat-ol-Islam Ali Adam, a local Shia scholar congratulated the participants on the occasion of the holy month and talked about the virtues of Ramadan and the Quran.

He called upon Muslims to hold more sessions of Quran reading, interpretation and memorization in the month of Quran and get more involved with Islamic activities.

Representing the Iranian center at the program, Yushao, director of the library also congratulated the holy month to the Muslims and appreciated the organizers' efforts in holding the competition.

He further mentioned some of the achievements of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Quranic fields, Rohama reported.
The Quran memorization contest was held with participation of 32 students aged between 15 to 18 and the first to the fifth rank winners were awarded by the Iranian center.
