Official blames outsiders for Shia, Sunni conflicts

“The conflicts between Shias and Sunnis are guided outside of the Islamic world,” said the founder of Ḥizb al‐Nahḍah in Tunisia.

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - “The conflicts between Shias and Sunnis are guided outside of the Islamic world,” said the founder of Ḥizb al‐Nahḍah in Tunisia. “Some groups directed the conflicts between shias and Sunnis outside of the Islamic world,” the founder of Ḥizb al‐Nahḍah movement in Tunisia, Rashid al-Ghannushi said.“Some of the outside groups and their agents inside of the Islamic World are looking for makings political and religious conflicts between Shias and Sunnis,” al-Ghannushi added. “These groups try to suggest that the religious movements are extremists and terrorists,” he said, adding that “That is the exact policy that Ben Ali and Mubarak followed, “said al-Ghannushi stating that Hosni Mubarak, for instance, always frightened the society of Egypt form Shia people. “Ben Ali also showed Islam as a serious danger for modernity,” Rashid al-Ghannushi mentioned. The founder of Ḥizb al‐Nahḍah in Tunisia concluded Muslims should be aware of these plots and keep their unity if they want to progress. /129
