(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Thousands of angry protesters rallied in Cairo's Liberation Square on Thursday.
Around 1,500 human rights activists and families of those tried in the country's military courts took part in the rally, the report added.
The demonstrators marched from the capital's Liberation Square to the Supreme Court, chanting slogans against the head of the Supreme Council of Armed Forces, Mohamed Hussein Tantawi.
The protest comes as a military court on Wednesday convicted 14 Egyptians of assaulting officials during a June ceremony to honor some of the people killed in the January revolution that ousted President Hosni Mubarak.
The convicts have been given suspended jail sentences of six months each.
Over the past weeks, thousands of protesters camped out in major Egyptian squares, including Cairo's Liberation square -- the epicenter of protests that toppled Mubarak-- causing several key government buildings to shut down.
The protesters demand the prosecution of Mubarak and those responsible for killing and wounding people during the country's historic revolution in February.
On Feb. 11, 2011, after 18 days of anti-government demonstrations, Egyptian Vice President Omar Suleiman announced on TV that Mubarak has officially resigned and assigned power to the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces.
