Bazaar Ramadan Traders In Perak Exempted From Paying Licence

Traders at Ramadan bazaars in Perak will be exempted from paying licence to local authorities, said Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir Wednesday.

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - He said the decision was made to exalt the spirit of Ramadan and make easier for traders to operate their business.

The decision, which would involve about 5,000 traders, would reduce the revenue of the 15 local authorities, including the Ipoh City Council, by about RM800,000, he told reporters after chairing the state executive council meeting here.

He said all the 15 local authorities had been informed of the decision and hoped that they would take the necessary action to refund traders who had made the payment.

In another development, Zambry said that certain local authorities in the state had been instructed to step up efforts to clean and beautify areas under their respective jurisdiction.

This followed complaints from some international companies operating in Perak that the industrial areas were not clean and not attractive enough, he added.
