(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Prime Minister Essam Sharaf appointed twelve new ministers in the latest cabinet reshuffle.
Hazem Beblawi, veteran economist and former undersecretary of the UN’s Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia, was named the new vice prime mister and minister of finance replacing Samir Radwan.
Ali El-Selmy was also appointed deputy prime minister.
Sharaf accepted the resignation of the foreign minister on Saturday, naming a relatively new face, Mohammed Kamel Omar, once Egypt's ambassador to Saudi Arabia, as the new chief diplomat.
The Prime Minister chose Moetaz Khorsheid, the CEO of the Egyptian Association for Programming Engineers, as the new minister of higher education and scientific research. Khorsheid was also the deputy president of the British University in Egypt and the former deputy president of Cairo University and a consultant to the French University in Egypt.
Hazem Abdel Azeem was appointed as the new minister of telecommunications. Abdel Azeem is a former president of the Technology, Entrepreneurship and Innovation Centre in the ministry.
Abdel-Fattah El-Banna replaced Antiquities chief Zahi Hawass.
Amr Helmy was appointed the new minister of health. Helmy is the former head of the Menoufiya Liver Institute.
Ali Zein El Abdeen, a professor in the college of engineering in Ain Shams University, will become the new minister of transport.
Sharaf named also new ministers of military production, agriculture , irrigation, religious endowments, local development, and civil aviation.
