(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has promised Russian muftis that he will discuss an increase of Russia's quota for the Hajj pilgrimage with the Saudi Arabian authorities.
Such a request was made by the chairman of the North Caucasus Muslims Coordination Center Ismail Berdiyev. The number of Muslims willing to take part in the Hajj significantly exceeds the set quota of 20,000 people, and he asked the president to gradually remove this limit. One could increase the quota for a start, Berdiyev said.
"It is not us who set [the quota], it is Saudi Arabia. Let's talk, we have a frank dialog with them. We'll ask," Medvedev said.
