(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - The National Council of Muslim Youth Organizations (NACOMYO) of Nigeria has implored the Boko Haram sect to yield to voice of reason and soften at shades of opinion aimed at addressing their grievances saying that life is sacred in Islam and should not be taken unjustly.According to the NACOMYO National Secretary-General, Alhaji Kamal’ddin Akintunde, the group enjoined Boko Haram to re-think and shun violence in their style and approach to seeking redress. He urged both the Federal and Borno State governments to exercise caution at applying force in dealing with Boko Haram, stating that concerted efforts should be geared towards dialogue and peaceful initiatives at addressing the sect’s grievances. The umbrella body for the Muslim youths in Nigeria also called on the police authority to consider and offer regret to the group as a commencement of the dialogue process, just as it acknowledged the probe of the police personnel involved in the ‘waste of life’ of Boko Haram leader (Muhammed Yusuf).Noting that the spate of violence and insecurity in the country was at an alarming rate and capable of truncating democratic initiatives at developing the country, Akintunde said: “NACOMYO also asks the group to be magnanimous on the steps and initiatives being employed at addressing their demands.”/129
