Center for Translation of Islamic Works to Open at Al-Azhar University

Officials of Al-Azhar University agreed to open a center for translation of Islamic works into Arabic at the central university located in Cairo, according to Al-Wafd website.

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Officials of Al-Azhar University agreed to open a center for translation of Islamic works into Arabic at the central university located in Cairo. Having held a meeting chaired by Ahmad Al-Tayyeb, Sheikh of Al-Azhar, the Supreme Council of the university investigated the role of the university in dissemination of moderate Islamic thought.  The meeting was attended by Abdul Hamid Abu Suleiman, head of the World Center of Islamic Thought.  Discussing the formation of a center specialized for translation of Islamic works into Arabic, participants finally agreed to set up the center.  Launching of a Technological Nursing Center at the Specialized Hospital of the university in Nasr settlement in Cairo was also finalized at the program.  Officials of the council also decided to lift age limit for admission of non-Arabic speakers applying for studying at the university.  The council equally announced its readiness to cooperate with benevolent people in constructing charitable associations by offering its financial support./129
