(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - National competitions on Quran memorization and Hadith will be held on July 17 in Comoros islands by Qatar's Sheikh Thani bin Abdullah Al-Thani's Foundation for Humanitarian Services (RAF)
Comoros Ministry of Islamic and Charity Affairs will cooperate with the Qatari side in holding the contest for which about 223 thousand Qatari Riyals has been allocated.
Speaking at a press conference in Moroni, capital of the Comoros Islands, Mohammad Salah Ibrahim, representative of the foundation said that the competition will be held on memorization of the Quran’s verses, memorization of Nabawi Hadiths and information about the companions of the holy prophet (PBUH).
He stated that another competition would also be held for children from 5 to 7 years old on the sidelines of the contest planned for both male and female participants, .
The Qatari representative added that: “those qualified to attend the competition will be selected sometime in the holy month of Ramadan at a session to be hosted by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs of the country.”
“The closing ceremony of the contest is reported to be held with the presence of Ikililou Dhoinine, president of the Comoros Islands, and officials from the two countries.”
