(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - " Islam values one's spirit and not his appearance," Ayatollah Nouri Hamedani said at a meeting in Kenya, adding that there is no segregation of black and white in Islam since what really matters is the spirit of the people.
Iranian senior jurisprudent met with Iranian citizens residing in the African country and stressed culture as the "first and most important aspect of man's life."
During the meeting, the grand Ayatollah referred to the different aspects of man's life and highlighted culture as the most important one.
"Man's life has different political, economical and jihadi aspects but the most important which is also stressed by the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) is the cultural aspect," the religious figure said.
On threshold of the great Eid of revelation (of the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), grand religious figure referred to the Qur'anic chapter and objectives in revelation of the Prophet (PBUH).
He assimilated prophecy to teaching and quoted the Prophet Mohammad that," Where there is no knowledge, is nothing but a ruin."
He also stressed that the Islamic Revolution of Iran started from culture and quoted late leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ayatollah Seyyed Rouhollah Khomeini (RA) and that his enlightenment sent him on exile.
The trip by high ranking Iranian religious figure is in line with the plan of the Organization for Culture and Islamic Relations to promote religious relations of Iran with other Muslim countries.
