Gamil Alam on Friday called Mubarak a despot and a criminal, saying the trial of the head of a dictatorial regime is a legal and legitimate demand, IRIB reported on Saturday.
Alam also called on Egyptian people to maintain unity and solidarity to safeguard the achievements of the revolution against conspiracies of enemies.
Mubarak was ousted in February following weeks of anti-government protests that put an end to his three-decade rule.
The Egyptian dictator, charged with the killing of revolutionaries and abuse of power, is now in police custody in a hospital in the Red Sea resort town of Sharm el-Sheikh.
He was transferred to the hospital in mid-April after it was claimed that he had had a heart attack during interrogations by anti-corruption authorities.
Egypt's Minister of Justice Mohammad Abdul Aziz al-Jundi said late last month that Israel plans to pave the way for Mubarak to escape from the North African country. Jundi accused Tel Aviv of seeking to destroy the Egyptian revolution.
Mubarak could face the death penalty if found guilty of killing anti-regime protesters during the revolution.
