(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - The Islamic Movement in Nigeria joins other Muslims in organizing activities to mark 22 years after the demise of the 21st century revolutionary leader Imam Ruhullah Al-Musawiy Al- Khumainiy (QS) organised by the Academic Forum of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria.
The one week Programme started on the first of June with a lecture by Malama Zeenah Ibrahim on "lessons to be drawn from the life and struggle of Imam Khomeini(QS)" .
Before her lecture, Prof. Maigandi and Alh. Ali Babba made an introductory speech to the organisers.
The leader of the Islamic Movement delivered a lecture on the Concept of Wilayatil Faqih on Thursday the 2nd of June where he started by explaining Leadership and a Mujtahid (great Scholar) respectively.
Sheikh Zakzaky spoke extensively on Imamate and Leadership as seen by Ahlul Bayt(AS) where he noted that Imams (Leaders) after the Prophet (SAWA) are 12 in number. He added that the Imams, from Imam Ali(AS) to Imam of the Age Al-Mahdi(AJ), are known according to Islamic Sources.
Sheikh Zakzaky further explained that after the occultation of the last Imam, the Imam outlined the qualities of the person to be followed. Among the qualities outlined by the Imam are knowledge, justice, fear of God, asceticism etc.
Sheikh Zakzaky therefore noted that Imam Khomeini(QS) observed that as long as Politics has to do with keeping of trust of people’s wealth, lives and their dignity, then a Scholar with those qualities ought to manage the affairs of people.
This thought of Imam led him to develop the concept of wilayatil Faqih, the Sheikh said.
He added the the concept has practically delivered good result in the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Prof, Maigandi was the discussant after the lecture by the Sheikh.
In addition there is an exhibition of assorted books and pictures related to the Imam and the revolution.
